1. Creating a new weNear account

Press weNear icon on the home page of your handset. Accept the Terms and Conditions then press Create Account button, you will get a registration form. Fill in the fields then choose Create Account from the menu. Fields preceded with Astrix (*) are mandatory fields and should be filled in.

2. Starting weNear

Press weNear icon on the home page of the handset, then you will get a Sign-in dialog. Enter your user name and password, then click the Sign-in button. You can choose "Remember Me" such that weNear remembers your password and login automatically next time.

3. weNear map

weNear map is where you will see your location, the locations of your nearby friends and announcers. Also, weNear Map is where you will access most of the functionality of weNear.

By Default, weNear will trace your location on the map. When you move from one location to another, you will also be able to see your location. If you want to freely navigate the map to another location (without necessarily showing your location), just pan the map to that location, and the map will stop tracing your location. To let the map to trace your location again, choose "Track me" from the menu.

4. Inviting friends

You can invite your friends to share you the fun and excitement of weNear. You can invite friends that are on your phone's contact list, and also any one you know his/her phone number.

From the Map, choose Invite Friends from the menu. If your friend is on the phone's contact list, select it from the list, then choose Invite Friends from the menu. Or you can directly type his/her phone number then click the Invite button.

5. Search nearby posts

You can browse and view the announcements that happen to be near you at the moment. From the Map menu, choose Search. A list of announcements that weNear detected they are near your location will appear. Select any announcement and you will be able to see the full information about it.

• Calling a phone that exists in the announcement
  If you want to dial a phone number mentioned in the announcement, simply click that number and weNear will let your phone call that number.
• Deleting announcements created by you
  If an announcement is created by you, you will be able to delete that announcement by pressing the delete button that appears under the announcement.
• Searching for announcements that are posted by a certain user, or match a certain interest (tag)
• To view announcements posted by a certain user, type the user's name in the search box. Or if you can see that user's name on the displayed list of announcements, just click it.
• To view announcements that match a certain interest, type the interest name in the search box. If you can see that interest on the displayed list of announcements, just click it.
• To get immediate help on searching and how to use it, press the help button, found at the top of the screen.

6. Announce something

To announce something so that it can be received by every weNear user who passes near you: Choose Announce from the menu. Fill in the fields of the announcement. The following is a description of each of those fields:

Field	Meaning
Title	a brief description about the announcement.
Body	a more detailed description of the announcement. You can insert your contact information in the body. Press the Mail button to append your mail, or the Phone button to append your phone.
Life time	how long your announcement could be viewed and be received by other people. Select the time unit and the number of units from the corresponding drop-down lists.
Interests	Your new announcement will be received by weNear users having these interests. So, try to be accurate as possible when selecting the interests of your announcement so that weNear could notify the right people about your announcement.

After filling the above fields, choose the Create from the menu.

7. Manage your visibility (appear/disappear)

Sometimes you would like to appear for some of your friends but not for the others. To manage your visibility, you have the following options:

Function	Command
Hide from a friend	Select that friend on the map, then choose Hide From friend-name from the menu.
Appear to a friend you previously has hided from	select that friend on the map, then press Menu, then select Shown to friend-name option
Hide from all your friends at once	From the Menu, select Disappear.
Appear to all your friends again	from the Menu, select Appear.

8. Display and manage your weNear friend list

You can view and manage your weNear friend list. Choose Friend List from the menu. A list of your weNear friends will be displayed. Beside each friend, you will find information about that friend according to the following listing:

Icon	Meaning
	means that this friend can see you on the map when you get near to each other.
	means that this friend cannot see you on the map when you get close to each other.
	means that this friend is located near you.
	means that this friend is located far from you.

By selecting a friend from the friend list, you will be able to do the following actions:

• Call that friend
• Delete that friend from weNear friend list (and not from the handset's contact list)
• View the nearby announcements posted by that friend
• Disappear/Appear from/to that friend

9. Manage weNear settings

Editing your profile

To edit your profile: Press Menu, then choose Settings. Open the Profile tab.

Customizing Application Configuration

To customize weNear configuration: Press Menu, then choose Settings. Open the Application tab.

Remember my password

By selecting this option, you will automatically sign-in to weNear next time you start the application.

Detect new Android contacts

By selecting this option, you will let weNear knows when you add new contacts to your phone so that you can also add these new contacts to your weNear friend list (after your confirmation).

Show traffic

By selecting this option, the Map will shows real-time information about traffic. This is available in some states inside US.

Show satellite

By selecting this option, the Map will work in the traffic mode of Google Maps, i.e. the Map will show real images of the streets, etc.

10. Manage your announcements

You can manage the announcements you have created before. So far, you can only delete some of them. To do so, press Menu, then choose Manage my Announcements. This will open the Search screen showing only your announcements. From here, you can delete an announcement by pressing the delete button beside each announcement.
